Abstract submission Guidelines
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Abstract of original research and should NOT have been presented or published at any local or international scientific journal and conferences.
- At least one of the authors MUST register for the conference.
- Participants may submit more than ONE abstract.
- Abstracts must be in ENGLISH.
- Studies conducted in Ministry of Health facilities or using Ministry of Health data must submit NMRR ID and MREC approval letter/email with their abstract.
- All clinical studies will be considered. This includes observational or interventional studies, cross sectional surveys, case series, and case report.
- The Scientific Committee reserves the right to decide on the acceptance of abstracts for poster presentation.
2. Submission Guidelines

Hardcopy submissions will not be accepted. For any problem with abstract submission, kindly contact the NCCR Secretariat at nccrabstracts@crc.moh.gov.my
- Abstracts must be submitted by 11.59 pm of 9 September 2022. Late submissions or incomplete abstracts will not be accepted.
- Participants who submit their abstracts before the closing date have the chance to get a conference fee sponsorship if their abstracts are shortlisted for the competition.
- The Secretariat will notify participants regarding the results of their submission by 10 September 2022.
3. Abstract Format
- The abstract should not exceed 250 words limit and include the following sections:
● Introduction
● Methodology
● Results and
● Discussion / Conclusion - Author(s)’ name must be written in FULL. Do not include professional title or degrees.
List any institutional affiliation, state, and country. Please make sure all authors contributed significantly to the research. - Abstract title must be in Title Case, e.g. “Cardiovascular Problems in Community Settings”. Title should be brief and clearly indicate the content of the abstract.
- Do not include graphs, tables, figures, or references in the abstract.
- An abbreviation must be defined by placing it in parenthesis after the full word for the first time it appears.
- Use numerals to represent numbers except when beginning a sentence.
4. Dr Wu Lien-Teh Research Awards
- Young Investigator Awards
● Only original research that has not been published or presented will be considered.
● The first author must be the presenting author and should be 40 years of age or below.
● 20 abstracts with the highest grades will be shortlisted for the Young Investigator Award, and 5 finalists will perform oral presentations during the conference.
● Winners will receive attractive cash prizes and certificates of achievement.
● Judges’ decisions are final. No correspondence would be entertained. - Best scientific poster award

5. Poster Display and Presentation
- Authors will be informed criteria for electronic poster presentation by email.
- E-Posters (in PDF format) of the accepted submissions must be emailed to the NCCR Abstract Secretariat at nccrabstracts@crc.moh.gov.my by 12noon of 1 October 2022.
- Late submission of the poster will not be entertained.
- All late submissions will be deemed as withdrawal from the competition.
6. Some Do’s and Don’ts
- Do use the template provided.
- Do follow the abstract and poster format.
- Do keep your abstracts limited to 250 words.
- Do use graphics, colour, or photos to enhance visual presentation of your poster.
- Do not miss the deadlines.
- Do not let the design of your poster overshadow the content.
